The Specific Carbohydrate Diet™ (SCD™) is a grain-free, lactose-free, and sucrose-free diet originally designed for those with Celiac Disease, SCD™ is also used for Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS), Candida, Crohn’s Disease, Ulcerative Colitis, Diverticulitis, Cystic Fibrosis, Chronic Diarrhea, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS), and Fibromyalgia (FM).

Details on the Specific Carbohydrate Diet™
Dr. Sidney Haas and his son Dr. Merrill Haas created the Specific Carbohydrate Diet™ in the 1950s for patients with Celiac Disease. Elaine Gottschall (aka Elaine Gloria Gottschall) later popularized the diet after it helped her daugher recover from Ulcerative Colitis. This diet has also been shown to help those with IBS, CFS, FM, and other conditions.
