Fibromyalgia is a chronic disorder characterized by musculoskeletal pain; fatigue; weakness; tenderness in localized areas of the neck, spine, shoulders, and hips sometimes referred to as tender points or pressure points; muscle spasms; sleep disturbances; irritable bowel syndrome; and other body disturbances. The overlapping allergies, sensitivities, and symptoms from other conditions that can make diagnosis difficult also affect how these symptoms are treated.
