We're Finally Catching Up with Popeye!
While those of us with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and/or Fibromyalgia -- or anyone else for that matter! -- probably will never match the cartoon guy in strength and endurance, we do seem to be coming close to matching Popeye in spinach consumption. According to an article in the San Jose Mercury News, in the 1970s we each only ate about 5 ounces of spinach annually; today we're each eating about 2 1/2 pounds of the stuff a year.
