According to information on AllAboutArthritis.com, Arthritis is one of the most pervasive diseases in the United States and is the leading cause of disability. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention one out of every three Americans (an estimated 70 million people) is affected by one of the more than 100 types of arthritis. According to the Arthritis Foundation, there are over 100 types of arthritis and rheumatic diseases including osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, and fibromyalgia. Arthritis.com lists osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis as the two of the most common forms.

Thanks to a loving husband -- with imagination, mechanical skills, and an ability to fabricate steel, one disabled wife isn't housebound. When an (unnamed) autoimmune illness disabled a Canadian woman with severe arthritis and other problems, her husband built them an RV complete with elevator and wheelchair storage. Now the couple travels in style. Their custom RV has been featured on Discovery's Travel Chanel program RV Crazy!
